Комментирует Анна Кузнецова, PR-менеджер компании Lenovo:

Trashxploitation- Screening Paris | France

Trashxploitation

Screening at Glory Hole

FEB 23, 2019 - Paris | France

TRASHXPLOITATION, festival of short film, was started in Paris in 2017 as a display of international network of artists whose work relates to trash in terms of production, inspiration or narrative approach. Whether you are schooled artists, in process of studying or you never went to any school, feel free to join us for a common look at the film forms emerging from positions that are emancipated from influence of theory, knowledge and big production teams. Name of the festival is a neologism coined in analogy with the term “exploitation film”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploitation_film

Clio Art Fair | March 2019 [Guest Artist]

The meaning of CLIO

The name is etymologically derived from the Greek root κλέω/κλείω meaning “to recount,” “to celebrate,” or “to make famous.”

With a nod to its inspiration, CLIO ART FAIR has been created with the idea of showcasing the careers and achievements of already affirmed creative minds.

By specifically targeting artists without any exclusive NYC gallery representation, CLIO ART FAIR focuses attention on the kinds of contemporary art and interventions that are being created by independent artists the world over, since 2014.

Without the constraints and usual concerns of the art business, the selected artists have been freed up to use different materials and media and to deviate from accepted art practice definitions. The resulting work being exhibited seeks to foster a dialogue that transcends prescribed geographies, hierarchies, and markets; and to further opportunities for greater expression of new media and ever ground-breaking content.

Clio art fair was born to challenge traditional art market methodologies.

During its past editions, Clio Art Fair hosted the works of iconic independent artists including:

Vito Acconci

Whitney Biennial 1977, 1981, 1991

Venice Biennial 1976, 1978, 2003

Nina Berman

Whitney Biennial 2010

Zana Briski

Academy Award for Documentary Winner, 2004

The primary goal is to create a space for direct dialogue between artists and collectors, artists and curators without the presence of any long-term mediator. The fair focuses on valorizing artworks while respecting and highlighting their role within the architectural spaces, they inhabit.

Adding to the innovative nature of our vision, Clio is the first art fair to accept the primary crypto-values as a form of payment: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, since 2017.

Artifact Film Festival

The Artifact Small Format Film Festival (formerly the $100 Film Festival) is Calgary’s only celluloid-based film festival. When the $100 Film Festival was born in 1992, it showcased eight short films on Super 8. The name sprung from the challenge to shoot a short film on four rolls of Super 8 – which tallied to the cost of $100. In following years, the festival dropped the budgetary limit and allowed 16 mm film, which shifted the focus from low budget to quality small-format films. Thus, the name was changed to the Artifact Small Format Film Festival in 2017 so as to better represent the festival’s role as an international celebration of creative story telling on celluloid.

Over the years, Artifact has expanded to include the popular Film/Music Explosion!, commission projects, and various partnerships.

Artifact is one of only a handful of festivals worldwide that exhibit exclusively on small-format celluloid. We are proud to be among the select few that continue to keep this unique medium alive, and to draw celluloid lovers to Calgary each year.

2019FESTIVAL

ABOUT

The Artifact Small-Format Film Festival is an annual 3-day film festival, screening exclusively Super8 and 16mm film. Formerly the $100 Film Festival, we are now in our 27th year of celebrating celluloid film! We are proud to be among the select few that continue to keep this unique medium alive and to draw celluloid lovers to Calgary each year.

Each night of the festival will be kicked off with our Film/Music Explosion series, which features a live performance by a local artist, accompanied by a Super 8 music video directed by a local filmmaker. The show will continue with a themed shorts programme of Super 8 and 16mm films from around the world. Each screening will have a 15-minute intermission and will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers.

This year we are pleased to welcome filmmaker and scholar Izabella Pruska-Oldenhof! She will be presenting a retrospective of her 16mm filmography throughout the festival, as well as an Artist Talk at the University of Calgary on Friday, March 8th, and a Photogram workshop on Saturday, March 9th.
